Burel Factory
Burel Factory is a Portuguese brand, born in Serra da Estrela that recovered an old burel factory and renovated the product, giving it several applications with an innovative design.
This was the first store designed by P 06 Studio, in 2015, in partnership with architecture studio Site specific, arquitectura.
The concept developed consisted in recreating the factory environment and its handcrafted looms. Elements such as wool cones, threads and hanks were used in order to introduce different parts of the weaving process.
The store is divided into two floors.
The upper floor is surrounded by loom threads that organize, present and highlight the products.
The lower floor consists of a large table that presents the different products whilst conditioning and controlling the space’s occupation and the visitor’s interaction with the space.

The first creative decision was to define a hospital-like feel, opposed to the luxury and cosiness of a hotel. We wanted a calm and comfortable environment, but at the same time clean, straightforward and representative of affordable healthcare.
