Signage
Teixeira Duarte Real Estate
This project consisted in the development of a signage system for a newly built housing complex in Lisbon called Fábrica 1921. During the design process P06 also needed to define the chromatic study for the parking lot, and create guidelines for the communication of shops and services on the ground floor.
The Fábrica 1921 brand was very present throughout the space as a way to identify the property. This new housing complex was built on an area where once existed a knitwear factory. This memory was something the client didn’t want to lose.
The signage system focused on delivering the residents a clear and clean communication that could be well integrated on the architecture, and also on providing long lasting solutions to endure through time.
We thought a good way for the memory of the old knitwear factory not to be lost, could be the use of some environmental graphics inspired by the old early 20th century advertising and news related with the old factory.
The whole idea was to try to capture the vintage typographic essence of the old advertising and news, in order to give an extra soul to the parking lot by using these oversized graphics organically on the walls.
