Signage
St. Dominic’s School
We were asked by the building’s architect, Miguel Cordeiro (ARCH05), for a signage project for the new extension at Colégio S. Domingos (St Dominic’s), an International School in S. Domingos de Rana, Portugal. The building is made up of prefabricated solutions displaying the technical installations in a raw way.
Our project proposes large-scale graphic work to dilute these strong architectural solutions, creating a lively school-themed environment.
Each type of classroom is identified with a large-scale title that covers all existing features of the wall — doors, corners, cables — to unify the aesthetic differences of building materials.
Die-cut vinyl technology was used to apply the graphics.
The different types of calligraphy not only illustrate the theme of the room, but also represent the different ways of writing, in an international school that brings together students of many nationalities.
